Team Leader’s Message
Hi All. Another month has passed and yes, Christmas sure comes around fast! October has been a great month for us, with the launch of our new website, new markets, customer stories and distributor arrangements (all is revealed in this newsletter). We have very interesting comments from our customers. It is heartening to know that there is a wave out there of people wanting real natural food and treats our best friends. Hence when I receive emails like the one from Cindy (Kansas) not only
do we feel that we can make a difference, but also how important it is to always be sure of what’s really good for our dogs, it is obvious that natural is best. Avoiding all kinds of pollutants that are in our food (unfortunately some cannot be avoided in this day an age) surely must promote good health and well-being.
My family decided 3 weeks ago to get a new dog. We visited the local SPCA and after looking at so many puppies, one caught our hearts. Like to introduce to you, our new family addition, Shani.
Shani (name taken from HOPE Indian – Shanee, which I think means ‘marvelous’ – please correct me if I am wrong here) is a Smooth Collie cross with?? and just a gem of a pet. Shani loves children and really very active, which is great for us… we live in the ’bush’ and just 20 minutes from the surf beach. Just getting Shani used to water at this stage – hopefully she’ll be surfing soon! My children play with Shani outside for hours on end, lots of laughter and best of all, keeps them away from the computer (internet for long periods) - What a joy it is to befriend a dog! I’ll tell you more about Shani in the next newsletter, what we feed her, her health, fun and games and of course puppy training.
Shani age 18 weeks.

Customer loyalty programe : this starts January 2007: Please feel free to give us you’re thoughts into ‘what makes a good loyalty program’ i.e. what you would like to see as a loyalty program.
- Two new products will be added – which are also suitable for cats (great for dual pet owners like me). They are both 100% lung (venison and lamb - some companies call them ‘puffed meat’ – which is what they look like). These will be cut into small cubes approximately ½ inch and slowly dried in our ovens. Both are high in protein (76%) and low fat of about 6% and high ash (potassium, sodium, calcium) content of approximately 5%. Look out for these in February 2007 when the consignment reaches LA. We will list them soonest they arrive.
We went through a rigorous checking of product quality (they even tested my claim of Natural by testing for tocopherols - various types of isomers – generally Vit. E), additives – all kinds, and come up with absolutely nothing added at all! So that was great news and confirms true our statement of TOTALLY NATURAL. You know now you are getting the real thing!
- Our Team – Well he is at it again – Fred’s off on holiday to the South Island for 10 days – lucky sod! – leaves us in the thick of it! He deserves it – Fred’s been with us for over 3 years now and he is our chief band saw operator – man he is fast! Fred is Samoan – form the idyllic land of beautiful beaches and palm trees. Fred is a mean looking person with cool tattoos and when new staff start, they all look at him with a kind of fear – really he is a kitten!
Well, we have had over 100 feedback emails and that has kept me busy. Looks like I have to get a helping hand here pretty soon! Here are a select few emails received:
From: Marilyn Cain – Kansas, USA
Our Rottweilers LOVE these products!!! I never have to worry about their safety. Thank you so much for such a tasty/safe product!!
Team Leaders Note: Marilyn is working towards being an independent rep for our products. Unfortunately, Marilyn has been in hospital for minor surgery and will start with distribution in the Central USA. We all wish her a speedy recovery.

Cindy – USA.
I have been feeding Greenies to my doxie / rat terrier mix until one day she started throwing up green foamy stuff and was sick for several days. I tried your treats and she loves them and no more being sick. Thank you for your products.
Team Leaders Note: We have lots of emails like this and many people are realizing what a difference natural treats make. Thanks Cindy.

From: Jo Danne – Sydney, Australia
comments: I recently purchased a product called "Spare Ribs" and my dog loves them.
Can I purchase them and other products from you direct? or can you give me list of shops that sell your product in my area.
Team Leaders Note: We have a distributor in Sydney. Jo now buys direct in Australia. |
From: Britta - New Zealand .
The following is excerpts from email conversations.
Britta: I saw the venison lots advertised on Trademe. Note: Trademe is NZ’s version of ebay.

Britta: To be honest, feeding anything (apart from their regular diet, which was devised by a Canadian canine nutritionist due to their digestive problems) is a bit of ‘an experiment’ with my dogs! So in that sense they are sort of guinea pigs.
Will do.
Britta: after testing the venison treats:
Normally, my two digestively challenged (IBD) poodles cannot tolerate dark meat well at all. However, when dried, it seems to work better!
> Natural Pet Treat response:
Gee...it’s getting better by the email! Note: Britta also placed a much larger order.
Britta: LOL - you never know what crazy dog people might email you ;)
Regards,
Britta

MY INTERNET SHOPPING EXPERIENCE
Allow me to share my most recent experience with this – I went into a well know pet site to shop – offer was free shipping for orders over $75. Great I thought. Well I placed my order, which totaled $149, clicked on check out and – LO and BEHOLD a SHIPPING SURCHARGE pops up! Wow! So, it is not free shipping! Well I wont do any thing like that to you – NO HIDDEN COST AT ALL, AT ALL!! Why are we being so generous? Because we believe in what we do and we want the best not only for our own pets, but yours too.
This Months PET OF THE MONTH: Jessie.

Jessie is a 14-year-old English Spaniel – is partially blind in her right eye (cataracts?) and drinks horrendous amounts of water (she has a kidney infection). Jesse is owned by Harumi and her children and been in their family for 13.5 years! Picture is of Jesse enjoying a Venison Shank.
“This is Jessie’s favorite treat and even takes it to bed – tucked up snugly together”
To submit your photo for Pet of the Month:
Email your photo as an attachment or mail us your photo:
We enjoy seeing the many pet pictures sent to us. When emailing photos please attach either: JPEG, GIF, or Bitmap files (These files end with .jpg .gif or .bmp). Pictures embedded into an email are more likely to be overlooked accidentally. No 'Word' or .doc files please, they won't be opened. Photos that are selected are in focus and don't include people (for the safety/privacy reasons). Selected photos tend to be close ups, and can be viewed easily at a small size. Winning photos typically are not altered with special effects or borders, and the background is uncluttered and does not detract from the image of the pet. Please give photo files the same name as your pet otherwise their name may not appear with their picture. Only select photos are posted. Photos may be cropped in order to show ones pet clearer. Please understand that we receive many wonderful pictures, and the winning photo is often selected because of how well it shows on a web page. The winning photo is posted on our home page for the month, but there are no other prizes associated with this contest.
